Heavy Downpour Renders Residents of Akwana in Wukari Homeless
Residents of Akwana Community in Wukari local government area of Taraba state were on Tuesday rendered homeless by an early morning heavy rainfall in the area.
Property worth thousands of Naira which include residential homes and farms lands were destroyed by the rain fall which caused flooding in the Akwana community.
Commenting on the disaster the Councilor representing the ward in Wukari local government area, Mr Tsokwa Nwunuji, described the situation as worrisome and appealed for urgent government assistance.
He lamented that the rain fall has caused untold hardship for the people.
According to him, this is the first time the area was experiencing such an ugly occurrence.
