 Governor Darius Ishaku has again identified tourism as the biggest potential that abound in the State.

The Governor Stated this during a meeting with Management of Nexim Nigeria Export and Import bank in Abuja.

He said other areas of economic potency of the State include Agriculture and solid minerals stating that tourism is more easier because of the capacity it has to attract foreign investors.

Governor Darius Ishaku said insecurity in the Northeast mostly the fear of Boko harram has greatly affected  tourism and expressed confidence that peace has finally returned to the Mambilla Plateau in Sardauna Local Government Area of the State which will now create environment for all economic activities to thrive.

The Governor told the Management of NEXIM bank that the State can supply rice to all parts of the Country and are also producing oil in large scale,Cassava,tea,Coffee and other food items.

On solid minerals he averred that apart from precious stones the state has gold,barite,uranium,led,sapphire and others maintaining that efforts is on ground to work on gold and led because of it’s high demand abroad.

He assured the bank of his resolve to diversify the economy of the State and live the people better at the end of his second tenure.

Earlier,Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Nexim bank Abba Bello promised to assist the Taraba State Government to develop the rich mineral resources that abound in the State.

He revealed that through the Zero oil fund the bank has allocated one billion naira for each State in the Country to boost export crops saying it is also in line with the Federal Government initiatives to takeover one hundred million people out of poverty.

The MD urged various States in the Country to work in areas they have comparative advantages.

Earlier,Head of Specialised business department of the NEXIM bank Buhari Yusuf rated Taraba tea among the best three globally.

He disclosed that fund is available for local producers in fulfilment of the Zero oil export and strategy adopted by the bank and promised to partner with the State Government to develop potentials of the State.

During the meeting Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku received a plaque from the NEXIM bank who in turn presented Taraba tea,Tom oil and other products of the State to the bank.

The State Governor is expected to formally signed a memoranda of understanding for the partnership with NEXIM bank at a later date at the Government House Jalingo.
