The Border Communities Development Agency, BCDA has handed over Ten lock up shops, Twenty Open stores with solar power borehole, over head tank and a modern toilet to the Taraba State Government.
The facilities located in Ibi Local government area of the state.
Speaking at the handing over ceremony of the project Executive Secretary of the Agency, Captain Junaid Abdullahi, commended the state government, chief of ibi Salihu Ababukar Danbwaro and other stakeholders for their support towards the success of the project.
The Executive Secretary who was represented by Sadiq Abdullahi assured the people of Ibi of the readiness of the agency to transform rural communities saying Dampar community is one of the area to benefit from the agency’s rural programme.
He charged the people to maintain the structures saying that it will encouraged the agency to do more for the people.
In his remarks the commissioner of Boundary Isa zaku said the BCDA decided to provide an ultra modern market to boost economic activities of the people .
Zaku said inline with the mandate of the agency of provision of basic infrastructure and poverty alleviation at the border communities in Nigeria since 2006 has been fulfilling their mandate to the good people of Taraba State with the support of the rescue mission .
Zaku mentioned that the Taraba government has been supporting the developmental strive of the agency . notable among these effort is the construction of doctors and nurses house quarters in shibon community of Takum Local government.
He added that Governor Ishaku has shown commitment in providing basic human need such as health care infrastructure and education among other and used the occasion to appreciate the excutive secretary of BCDA and a deputy director in the agency Sadiq Abdullahi for always remembering the state every physical year The team had earlier visited the palace of the chief of ibi to seek his royal blessings. Salihu Ababukar Danbwaro thanked the agency for the providing the lock up shops and assured that the shop will be used for the purpose intended. Other projects handover to the Taraba State Government include construction of border market with both open/lock up , borehole with elevated steel Tank at bissaula , construction of skills acquisition center and a bolehole in Baissa and over head tank in zing among other ..
