PDP Primaries: Governor Ishaku Demonstrates Good Leadership Qualities.
Samuel. Timothy
A lot has been said about the administration and leadership style of Governor Ishaku of Taraba state. One would wonder how his administration faired in the midst of challenges from the opposition to the insecurity that affects the state, particularly the Southern Zone where he is from.
The just-concluded primary election conducted by his party, the People Democratic Party (PDP), was a good record to prove his leadership qualities. The primary election in Takum local government his country home, saw tremendous turnout and responding to the choice of his people, Hon. Shiban Tikari emerged as the PDP flag bearer for the seat of the Chairman of the local government. This has strengthened the people’s confidence in Governor Ishaku, for his heart for his people.
Governor Ishaku proved many wrong and conducted a peaceful primary election for Councillor and Chairmen. He ensured even distribution of positions to every community through consultation. There has never been such evenness since the history of politics in the community.
The youth were not left out in his new plans for his people. Governor Ishaku listened to good counsel and bridged the gap between leaders and youth. He appointed Hon. Emma Ernest, a vibrant youth, who has the leadership wherewithal to mobilize people, both young and old to work for the good of the local government and beyond. This is not only likened to Takum local government but across the local governments of the state.
As a good leader, he allows room for inclusiveness in his administration. This is seen in the many times he allows the people of the state register their plight through stakeholders and representatives. This has gone a long way to ensure peace rules the affairs of communities in the state. He has a noble course for the state and his blueprints are real.
